Hi, I'm R.O.
I'm currently a volunteer teacher at ReDI in Berlin, training the next generation of Product Designers in tooling and methodology.

But I think more can be said
about my 12 years in Design.
After moving to Berlin and taking a year-long sabbatical, I began working on a startup product focused on communication, code-named 'Bridge', while freelancing.

While I work on freelance projects, I'm collaborating with a small startup team to build an accessible and emotionally meaningful communication platform to bring multigenerational families closer by solving the most common pain points in existing communication apps. As part of this project, I'm prototyping with emerging tools like Play, Figma Make and V0.

The Result? Prototyped features for an MVP and an understanding of the technical and commercial limitations of the product.

In 2024, I started designing what I call 'Babbel, aber Besser' as part of my German learning journey.

During my sabbatical, I dedicated almost every day to learning German in bits, through reading signs on my daily walks and daily learning in the Babbel app.

After a few months with the Babbel app, I took note of UX improvements I could explore to improve my learning experience and tested these explorations with Babbel users like myself.

The Result? An exploration of features focused on improving my daily engagement, quality of life, and co-learning with friends and family.

There were also positive reactions from some Babbel staff and positive feedback from Babbel users like myself during testing.

By 2023, I had built a Design System and led a team to design, release, and maintain 4 products at Omni Strategies.

As the first Designer at the medium-sized startup, I was solely responsible for both brand and product design, collaborating with the CEO and cross-functional teams on discover, product releases, development, and maintenance.

The Result? I hired and mentored a team of 2 Designers and a UX Writer. We introduced UX Research and Testing, and built a foundational Design System for our product stack, including Mega Fortune (a digital lottery product whose marketing design I also led when it shipped).

I also led product rediscovery for our B2B2C Fintech product, resulting in a $1M revenue loss avoidance, as documented in a case study.

In 2022, I led the redesign and release of a B2C SaaS Insurance app, improving navigation, accessibility, and conversion, leading to an 85% Task Success Rate.

While transitioning to Design leadership at Omni Strategies, I redesigned an Insurance mobile app, with a focus on parity with the Web app, while leveraging mobile-first design to improve navigation, user retention, and visual and content accessibility.

The Result? Improved conversion and user confidence in the product, based on the 85% Task Success Rate in testing the Insurance Request form - a core function of the app.

From 2019 to 2021, I worked with Bertillon Labs to design their SaaS MVP and secure Pre-Seed Investment.

Before joining Omni Strategies in 2022, I worked with Bertillon Labs, a pre-seed startup building a B2B KYC platform that later became an SDK for large companies.

I focused on building a unique brand identity and collaborating with engineers to improve product usability.

The Result? A brand identity, product pivot to B2B SDK, and $50K pre-seed funding.

From 2019 to 2025, I was a Founding Designer and Art Director at BEDU Live

After 6 years as a freelance Graphic designer, I joined BEDU Live as a Founding Designer to lead performance-driven creative campaigns focused on art direction and design in collaboration with brands including AMV BBDO, Universal Music, Guinness Africa, Mavin Records, LIVE NATION, and RCA Records.

The Result? An increase in YoY revenue by over 150% in my first year on the team.

Since 2013, I've been everything from Brand and Graphic Designer, to a Visual and Product Designer.
